The before & after of Botox
Botulinum toxin commonly known as Botox is made from a bacteria called botulinum. It is used to temporarily relax facial muscles, which then reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is used to reduce wrinkles on the face & neck, crow’s feet, brow furrow, and forehead lines and to rejuvenate the ageing face. It is injected directly into the muscle that needs to be relaxed.
Important pointers to remember before & after treatment:
- If you are breastfeeding or pregnant, consult your doctor before taking Botox.
- If you are taking any kind of supplements (fish oil, vitamins), you need to tell your doctor. He may advise you to leave such supplements 2 weeks prior to the Botox treatment.
- The clinic will call you for a follow-up check, two weeks later, to review and examine the results.
- You can take up next dose in 3-4 months, to maintain the new, fresh look on your face.
- Use SPF sunblock to protect your skin from sun exposure, which will prolong the results, leaving your skin looking younger for longer.
- Avoid Spas, parties, and alcohol for at 3-4 days after Botox treatment.
